Part of the Institute’s role includes improving the importance of Computing within Education.

They worked through the popular Flappy Bird Game, adapting and coding it to make it workable on the program. The children enjoyed this immensely, while finding it challenging and satisfying at the same time, helping them to increase their own personal coding skills along the way. Well done!

It engages students interests in Computer programming and STEM.  

The dedication of all the children who enter is amazing each year. This year, I had nine children who decided they wanted to create a resource for the competition.

With lots of chatter, and frantic discussion of ideas and who was going to be in whose teams, all the children listened intently to the rules of the competition.
