OUTDOOR LEARNING
Hello and welcome to Year 2"s blog!
We’ve been so busy already this term! We’ve had an amazing trip to Duxford to see all the different types of aeroplanes and to learn facts about these amazing flying machines.
But the most exciting thing….OUTDOOR LEARNING MORNING!
It was so much fun and we all enjoyed learning outside in the garden and school grounds.
We completed an English activity based upon writing a poem about going on a journey. We were able to use adjectives to describe our place and what we could see and then we were able to use verbs and adverbs to describe how we’d get there.
In maths, we were learning about 2D and 3D shapes and we were investigating where we could find a variety of shapes in the natural environment.
We created an image of a boat using paper and paper plates. We had lots of fun decorating these with felt tips and sequins!
Our final activity was a PHSE activity, looking at team work and social skills. We had to bounce a ball to a person and communicate with them so they knew when we would be throwing the ball. We also played don’t drop the hoop and all hands in a jumble!
We had such a brilliant morning and we were very lucky with the weather!
Have a look HERE for some photos of us having fun in the garden!
Thank you to all the grown-ups who help with the Outdoor Learning Morning and Duxford!
