YEAR 1 ON SAFARI

This term we went on a fantastic school trip to Woburn Safari Park

When we got there, we were able to go around the Safari park on the coach. We were very lucky because we got to see all of the animals. During the coach safari tour we saw elephants, lions, zebras, tigers and many more amazing animals. We found out some really interesting facts about all the animals as we went past. Did you know that male ostriches are coloured black and females are grey? They have different feathers to protect their eggs by taking it in turns during the day and night. The lion enclosure was as big as London zoo!

After the road safari, we went to look round with our friends. We learnt about giraffe skulls and skeletons. Did you know that giraffes have seven bones in their necks? They also have a black tongue so they don’t get sun burnt. How cool! We were also able to see small creatures such as cockroaches and lemurs.
