SCIENCE IN YEAR 4!

We have been learning about states of matter this term. There are 3 states of matter: solids, liquids and gases.

We went to the hall to represent what the molecules in the three states of matter look like. Solids stay close together so they can keep their shape. Liquids are more spread out. They don’t keep their shape and can be poured. Gases have very spread out particles and fill the container they are in.

We also had to sort different items into the three categories. We couldn’t decide on sugar because you can pour it!

We will be looking at states of matter all term and will be doing some experiments to test how objects can change states of matter!
