FIREWORKS!!

This week we have been learning all about Guy Fawkes, fireworks and fire safety!

At the beginning of the week we learnt about the Gunpowder Plot story and why we remember the 5th November. During our choosing time we made firework pictures from a selection of different paints, chalks and glitter!

In maths we really enjoyed singing “10 little fireworks standing in a row” to help us find 1 less of an amount. Some of us were busy exploring 3D shapes and built rockets and even the houses of Parliaments out of the different 3D shapes!

At the end of the week we had a special visitor, a real fireman! He explained all about fire safety and the importance of his special uniform. We had fun dressing up in his clothes and wearing his hat! The hat was really heavy and we couldn’t believe that it smelt like smoke! We were amazed at how quickly the fireman could get changed after we rang a pretend fire alarm, it was less than a minute!
