YOUNG VOICES '24

Young Voices is the most amazing experience where hundreds of school choirs from across the country come together.

Every year there are new songs and special guests. Last year we sang songs from Trolls, Proud (with Heather Small) and Don’t Worry Be Happy by Bob Marley.

This year we had some brilliant guests including Natalie Williams, a great soul and jazz singer who wowed us all and a 13-year old music sensation, Mandy Bushall who showcased her skills on both the drums and the saxophone. We even got to sing with Mandy. If that wasn’t enough we had a live orchestra and a professional conductor who has been leading Young Voices for 25 years.

Another act was a rapper called MC Grammar who had made a rap about books and we joined in with his catchy tune. Another brilliant act was Urban Strides (a dance group) who made some moves to accompany the songs we sang. They were great dancers who performed flicks and tricks.

We sang lots of different types of songs like swing, pop and even Korean. It was especially fun when the lights went off and we had little torches that shone like stars.

If you have never been to Young Voices before and are a bit nervous you will have the time of your life. I didn’t think that this year could be better than last year but I was wrong. I would 100% recommend it and if you ever get the chance you should definitely give it a go!
