OUR FINAL TWO WEEKS IN RECEPTION!

Last week we read the story ‘The Day the Crayons Quit’ and spoke about what quitting means and the importance of not giving up.

In the story, all the crayons wrote letters to their owner, Duncan, to explain why they were quitting. We discussed that letters are a way of communicating and that this was the main communication method in the past. We compared it with communication now and learnt that letters can be sent electronically by email. We even emailed the headteacher as a class to invite her to our performance!

In EAD, we learnt all about the famous artist ‘Piet Mondrian’. He used horizontal and vertical lines along with the primary colours to create pieces of artwork. We had a go at making our own pieces of Mondrian art.

This week our class text was ‘Around the World with Max and Lemon’. Each day the children learnt about a new place in the world and completed a page in their passports. The highlight of the week was learning how to play baby shark on the steel pan drums!
