IN THE WOODS
Reception enjoyed our first school trip to Bromham Woods.
We spent two days exploring with our friends and took part in a variety of activities. On the first day we went on a number bear hunt. We worked together in small groups to find the teddy bear faces. We then counted the number of spots each bear had and matched it to the correct teddy on our sheet. The second activity was mask making using natural resources such as flowers and leaves to decorate our masks.
On the second day, we were very lucky with the weather and were able to enjoy a picnic outside. Our first activity of the day was making suncatchers. We took the outside of a paper plate and attached some sticky back plastic to the middle. We then collected lots of interesting natural resources to create a beautiful picture. We then decorated the outside of our plate using crayons. The last activity was going on an egg hunt. Each egg had a picture of an animal which we then sounded out using our phonics and wrote the name of the animal on our sheet. The children had lots of free time to explore the woods and make some dens. Some of the children reported spotting The Gruffalo and The Big Bad Wolf!
