This term in Reception, our topic is 'The Wonderful World of Books!' We will be using a key text each week during the summer term from a variety of different authors to base our learning around.
This week, reception have enjoyed learning outside for three mornings. We were so proud of all the children as they were able to adapt their routine and enjoyed every moment, even when the weather wasn't that kind to us and we found ourselves out in the rain!
This half term we have been reading non fiction text about animals that live in the woods. Last week was about hedgehogs! We learned lots of amazing facts about these cute little creatures. We even found out that they can swim!

In Early Years our topic is 'Marvellous Me!' We have been learning all about our local environment. The weather had been kind to us, so we have managed to get out and about for a couple of walks.
This term our topic is 'Marvellous Me!' and we have been learning all about ourselves. Our focus over the last two weeks has been how we keep healthy through exercise and through making the right food choices.
K2 are working on the topic of The Very Hungry Caterpillar. This is one of my favourite books! Before we started we had a walk on the green, and found a caterpillar on a leaf!
Welcome to the Spring Term our topic is ‘Into the Woods.’
We have had a fabulous introduction to the topic with a visit from the Birds of Prey centre. The children had the opportunity to see some birds of Prey up close and the teachers had the opportunity to hold the owl!

This half term, we are reading stories that are set in the woods. This week our story was 'The Gruffalo'. We have enjoyed many activities based around the story.
Just before half term we learned all about Chinese New Year. Two children bought in red paper lanterns and dragons to show us. Angelo told us, "We hang them up in our houses for Chinese New Year!" We all had a go a making the lanterns and dragons.
