AUTUMN TERM 2021

The autumn term was a busy time for the PTA as we looked to the year ahead and worked with the staff to identify our fundraising campaigns. We also underwent some changes in the committee, but more of that later.

In case you haven’t seen, this year the PTA are fundraising to install famous artwork prints arounds the school with Mrs Benson and conscious of the trees that had to be removed last year to install the amazing new play equipment we will be planting for the future to promote environmental well-being and mental health. All events will raise money for these brilliant enhancements to the school and we are tracking progress on JustGiving (Famous Artworks and Planting for the Future) where we welcome additional donations to help us reach our goals. Any surplus raised will continue to be saved to our long term project to invest in digital learning tools (Digital Learning).

This year has also seen some changes in the PTA committee with a new Chair (Allan Sydney), Vice Chair (Emma Buck) and Secretary (James Mackley), but no changes to the treasurer (Danielle Endersby-Browne). Please support them and the school as they continue to build the PTA and enhance school life for our children. The PTA is always looking out for parent and carer volunteers who can help in any way, be it design a poster or helping run an event. If you would like to get involved please email the team (thehillsacademyptfa@gmail.com).

And finally, on to the events we ran last term… Another year living with restrictions meant that our planned welcome picnic was unfortunately cancelled (again), but we have rallied and delivered some great alternatives. We have some of our old favourites with pre-loved uniform sales and mufti days, as well as trying something new with our donut sale, which was a roaring success, so thank you to everyone who treated themselves ðŸ˜Š. In the final week we held a hugely successful Christmas raffle raising over £350 and our plea to Father Christmas was answered when he visited the school to record some videos and spread some class Christmas cheer with some hidden gifts!

Now looking forward to this term we hope to return for an AGM to formally welcome new parents into the PTA and share our vision in person, we will also be hosting an Easter raffle, PJs & Crazy Hair mufti day and an online family fun quiz night.
