I read the book with my daddy. We decided to make our own papier mache caterpillar! We used water balloons and old newspapers. It was very messy!

I had lots of fun painting each balloon. They dried quickly in the sunshine.

My mummy threaded the finished balloons onto a piece of string. We used pipe cleaners for his feet and antenna.

I love my finished caterpillar.

Something really special happened as soon as we finished. A butterfly landed on our table and then on my daddy’s arm. I think she was saying she loved my caterpillar too!
