PASSAGE TO INDIA!

This term we have thoroughly enjoyed learning all about India as  part of our topic and we all particularly enjoyed completing all of our art and d.t work ready for our fabulous finish.

We have made clay statues in the style of Henry Moore from a character called Velu from the text 'Trash' that we are reading in English. Velu is a rag picker who has recently moved away from home to start a new life in Chennai with his new found friend Jaya.

We have also made Coconut Barfis, which was very messy, they tasted very good but they were very sweet! This year we were the first year group to make our very own tie dye t-shirts, again this was a little messy at times and our arms ached from holding the t - shirts in all of the different coloured dye. But they all looked fantastic! We have also been able to make Rangoli patterns using the scratching technique with oil pastels and we have created our very own Indian jungle collage. Have a look HERE for some photos of our creations

We made all of these things to sell at our fabulous finish, which was in the style of an Indian Bazaar, to help raise money for 'Save the Children' in India!
