indian drumming

In Year 4 this term we have been learning about traditional Indian drumming in music.

As you can see from the photograph Rishi brought in a 'dhol' from home and played it for us... we really enjoyed it!

Last week King G came and taught us how to play the dhol.  We felt nervous because we hadnt tried it before and we played in front of our friends in Year 4 but we were excited at the same time because it was a new experience for us!!

When King G first arrived he played us a tune which made us jig about in our seats.  We found out we really didn't need to be worried, King G was an amazing teacher and soon we were all dancing and playing the drums REALLY LOUDLY!

At the end of the day we got to do our drumming in front of our grown ups... the grown ups were impressed and we think they were a bit speechless.  The day was excellent and a fabulous experience that we will never forget!!
