Philosophy

We believe that the general aims of education are the same for all children and that they should all have an equal right to attain their full potential. It is our responsibility to offer a broad, balanced and relevant curriculum which will meet the needs of all children within our school.

Philosophy

We believe that behaviour expectations at The Hills Lower School are met by providing our children with an atmosphere that is orderly, purposeful and caring in which to thrive, with a school ethos that demonstrates courtesy, consideration, compassion and is conducive to the task of learning and harmonious co-operation. In turn we encourage our children to develop a sense of pride in the school and feelings of personal achievement. Behaviour is ‘The way we act and respond to people and to situations we find ourselves in.’

At The Hills Lower School we all appreciate the importance of strong links between home and school. It is important for us to work together to ensure that each child is able to progress fully in all areas of his/her development. Many parents and carers are very willing to help their children at all stages of their education and thus we, as a staff, encourage pupils to extend their work at home in all areas of the curriculum.
