The nominated governors have been meeting regularly to prepare for the appointment of the new headteacher. The full governing body will be involved in ratifying the appointment. The governing body are delighted to announce that we have appointed Mrs Julie Pettitt as our new clerk. Mrs Pettitt is a parent at The Hills and is already a very committed supporter of the school, its work, activities and on-going progress and development. We would all like to wish her well in the role. Mrs Dickson has kindly agreed to support Mrs Pettitt particularly in these early weeks and we would like to take this opportunity to thank her for all the work she has done for our governing body and for the continuing support she will be providing. We would also like to thank our previous clerk - Mrs Lucy Millar, for all her hard work, time and commitment to the role and the school and to wish her well for the future. China visitThe governors were disappointed to hear that the visit of the Chinese delegation had been cancelled. We know how much work had been done by our teachers and pupils and indeed across the Borough in preparing for this visit and at short notice too. We hope that discussions currently taking place between the Borough and their Chinese colleagues will lead to the visit being re-scheduled for the early part of 2011.
