Week commencing Monday 23rd January 2017

Welcome to the Reception weekly blog!

This week we have enjoyed exploring the properties of clay and have created clay hedgehogs.  We have also learned many facts about hedgehogs and have written about them in our 'Have a go' books. In our indoor PE session we have been practising our marching skills and discussing why we need to warm up at the beginning of  a lesson and cool down at the end.  We have continued to develop our money vocabulary and have solved money problems using 1p and 2p coins.

Next week our woodland animal focus will be foxes and our maths focus will be '1 less'.  Friday will see us celebrating Victorian day and giving the children a small insight into the life of a Victorian school child.  Over the weekend, it would be lovely if the children could find a picture of a Victorian school child and discuss with you how they look different to the school children of today.
