Aboriginal art, Freeze-frames and SNOW!

Written by
This week, the snow we have been looking forward to finally arrived!  Wearing our wellingtons, hats and gloves we had great fun making snowmen on the school field. During our art lesson this week we looked at art from the hotter climate of Australia. In pairs we created a journey through the ‘Outback’ using aboriginal symbols. When we had created our journey we reproduced them using very small dots of colour on black paper. Our literacy lessons this week have been based around the book ‘Varjak Paw’ by S.F. Said. We began by putting ourselves into the minds of cats by creating freeze frames of scenes from the book and using thought tapping. During numeracy we have been creating our own numeracy games based on the eight times tables to challenge each other’s knowledge. Our star of the week this week is Sophie. Thank you to Lottie our class photographer. Mrs Browning’s activity of the week: This activity will help you to improve your punctuation skills.  Do let me know how you get on.
